In the dynamic digital realm, your category settings hold the key to a more prominent online presence. This guide explores the intricacies of category settings, SEO optimization, and image management.
Let's start from how to reach what we need.
To create or modify category settings, navigate to the Products > Categories
.
Once you've chosen the category you wish to modify, click on the "..." icon. A new window will appear where you can access the Edit options.
On This Page
Settings
This section pertains to the primary parameters of the page.
There are four sections and three main buttons located at the top.
Within the Settings section, you can configure the general settings for the page and manage SEO.
You can discover Product Selection following link.
In Images section, you can set up images for the category.
And in Description, you can add customized content.
In Page URL Settings you can change the category's address in different languages. After making changes, scroll down and click "Save" to confirm.
To verify the changes, click "Open In Browser" and the page will open in a new tab.
If you need to delete the page, utilize the "Delete Page" button.
General Settings
In general settings you will find:
1. Page name
This represents the name of the category that will be displayed. In our example, we changed "Tumblers" to "Tumbler-TEST," and this change is reflected in the category's titles.

2. State - Enable\Disable
This option allows you to enable or disable the category. If you intend to use the category again in the future, there's no need to delete and recreate it; simply disable it.
3. Valid of the page
Specify the dates during which the page will be available.
4. Display Recommended Products
Recommended products are showcased on the Categories page.

You can customize the appearance of recommended products, but they will only display if the correct layout is selected. Further details can be found in the article Set up layout of product listing

5. Display Products List
This option relates to the list of products within this specific category.
On the left side of the screenshot below you can find it disabbled. As on the right side is enabled.

TIP
This is a useful feature if your category includes sub-categories, as it allows clients to navigate directly to them.
6. Page Description
This text is visible at the top of the category page, just before the product list. You can use HTML tools to edit this text. Please note that PromoTron is not responsible for potential HTML errors. If you're an experienced user, you can make modifications.
Remember to update the text for all available languages. Click on the to do so.
7. Page Bottom Description
This text is displayed at the bottom of the category page, following the product list. You can use HTML tools to edit this text. Please note that PromoTron is not responsible for potential HTML errors. If you're an experienced user, you can make modifications.
As with the page description, ensure that you update the text for all available languages by clicking on .
SEO
In the world of digital prominence, SEO reigns supreme. A key facet of this optimization is metadata, encompassing titles, keywords, descriptions, and even images. In this brief guide, we explore how these elements impact discoverability and presentation, all within the realm of on-page SEO.
1. Title (H1 & Meta title)
This field is crucial for both search engine optimization and the browser's tab name and Open Graphs name.

Changing the title here will automatically update the section's title, as illustrated in the image above.

3. Keywords (Meta keywords)
These keywords are primarily used for search engine optimization, helping users find your content more easily.

4. Description (Meta description)
The meta description plays a significant role in improving search visibility by providing a concise summary of the page's content. It will be visible as Open Graphs description.

5. Open Graph Image
To share a category link with an accompanying image, you must upload one first. The recommended dimensions for an Open Graph Image are 1200x630 pixels, and it should be in JPG format.

Facebook
Images
You can configure images for category banners and set a category image for the product here.
By default, this applies to all languages.
Category Image
This image is displayed in the navigation bar's category menu.

Banner Images
Banner images are graphics used for promotion and branding on a website, prominently displayed across category pages for consistent visibility. They can be organized into a carousel for featuring multiple messages or promotions within the same banner space.
Top Big Banner
This large banner will be displayed on the category page, above all products.
Recommended image size: 800x1200px in JPG format.
You can add multiple of images, and a carousel will be created.

Top Small Banner
This small banner will be displayed on the category page, above all products.
Recommended image size: 350x160px in JPG format.
You can add multiple small banners. If there are more than six of them, a carousel will be created.

You can enable banners as required and seamlessly blend them together for simultaneous display.
Footer Banner
Upload an image for the Footer. It will appear on this category's Footer. If is enabled, it will also be displayed on sub-categories' footers.
Recommended image size: 800x1200px in JPG format.

Should you have configured the Footer Banner within the Settings > Footer > Footer Banner
, it will be prominently showcased across all pages of your website.
This even extends to the creation of a carousel that highlights banners for category pages, ensuring a consistent and cohesive brand presence across your entire website.
Description
Now onto the most crucial step - adding content to your category page. If you're comfortable with HTML, navigate to View > Source code
and input the required code (1), followed by hitting SAVE.
If you're not familiar with HTML, input your text (2), and should you need to incorporate files like images, select Add File (3).
