This article will help you set up Discount Plans for your TronShop
Discount Plans replace the old single percentage per customer (individual business discount). You create reusable plans with separate product and print rates, optionally adjust rates per supplier, then assign the plan to your B2B customers.

What changed
| Before | Now | |
| How you set a discount | One number per customer | A reusable Discount Plan |
| What is discounted | The same % on everything that used that rule | Separate product % and print % |
| Suppliers | Same % for all suppliers | Optional per-supplier overrides |
| Reuse | Edit each customer separately | One plan for many customers (e.g. Gold / Silver) |
| Delivery & payment | Could follow the old flat discount | Not discounted by the plan |
Existing individual discounts were migrated automatically. The old percentage was copied as both the product and print default (plans named like Migrated – …), so prices stay familiar until you rename and fine-tune them.
PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION
Discount Plans are not Price Policies.
Price policies define how sale prices are calculated from purchase prices (margins, quantity levels, suppliers).
Discount Plans are an extra customer-specific reduction on top of those sale prices for logged-in B2B customers.
How a Discount Plan works
When a customer is logged in and has an Active plan assigned:
- The shop looks up the plan for that customer.
- For each item, it checks whether there is a supplier override.
- If yes → product % and print % from that override are used.
- If no → the plan’s default product % and print % are used.
- Product discount reduces the sale price of goods.
- Print discount reduces print / decoration prices (including in the calculator).
- Guests, customers without a plan, or customers on an Inactive / Archived plan see normal sale prices.
- Delivery, payment, and similar fees are not reduced by the plan.
EXAMPLE
Gold partners plan:
- Default: 15% product / 5% print (all other suppliers)
- Override for preferred brand: 20% product / 5% print
Customer A is assigned Gold partners. On a product from that preferred brand they get 20% off the product and 5% off print. On products from other suppliers they get 15% / 5%.
Opening Discount Plans
In your TronShop admin go to:
Marketing → Discount Plans
You will see the list of plans with name, state, default product %, default print %, number of supplier rules, and assigned customers.
Creating a new Discount Plan
- On the Discount Plans list, press the “+” button.
- Fill in the plan settings:
| Field | Meaning |
| Name | e.g. Gold partners, VIP – textile
|
| State | Only Active plans are applied in the shop |
| Default product discount | % off goods when no supplier override applies |
| Default print discount | % off print when no supplier override applies |
| Description | Optional note for your team |
- Save the plan.
- Open the plan from the list to set supplier overrides and assign customers (next sections).
PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION
Only plans in state Active are used in the shop.
If the plan is Inactive or Archived, assigned customers get no plan discount until you set it back to Active.
Setting rates and supplier overrides
Open a plan from the list. On the detail page you will see:
-
Plan overview — name, state, description (edit here to change defaults)
- This plan’s rates — default row for “All other suppliers” plus optional supplier overrides
-
Where this plan is used — assigned customers
Default rates
The row All other suppliers (marked DEFAULT) uses the plan’s default product % and print %.
Edit the plan (Edit plan) to change these defaults.
Supplier overrides
If a supplier needs different rates:
- Press + Add supplier override.
- Select the supplier.
- Enter product % and/or print %.
- Save the override.
You can leave one field empty to inherit that plan default. At least one of product or print must be set (otherwise the override would be identical to the default).
You can set different product and print defaults on a plan (e.g. 20% product / 30% print) when print should be discounted more (or less) than goods.
Assigning Discount Plans to customers
A customer can have only one Discount Plan at a time.
From the plan
- Open the plan.
- In Where this plan is used, press + Assign customer.
- Select the customer and confirm.
If the customer already has another plan, you will be warned and can move them to this plan.
From the customer
- Go to Customers and open the customer.
- Open Discounts.
- Select the Discount Plan and save.
PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION
• Prefer a few shared plans (Gold / Silver / Bronze) over one plan per customer.
• Plans named Migrated – … came from the old single %. Rename them and adjust product vs print when you are ready.
• After you change rates or assignment, the customer should refresh the catalog or re-open the calculator to see new prices.
What the customer sees in the shop
Only logged-in customers with an Active plan see plan discounts.
| Place | Behavior |
| Catalog | Discounted price; original price can stay struck through (shop setting, same as before) |
| Product detail & price matrix | Same — discounted (+ struck-through original if enabled) |
| Calculator (TCC) | Product and print rates applied separately; info text e.g. product −10% / print −5%
|
| Cart | Discounted line prices only (no % breakdown), same idea as before |
Discount Plans work together with your normal sale prices from price policies. Coupons remain a separate mechanism.
Deactivating or archiving a plan
- Inactive — the plan is kept, but discounts stop for assigned customers.
- Archive — hides the plan from day-to-day lists (you can still show archived on the grid).
Use Inactive when you want to pause a tier without deleting history or unassigning everyone first.

Discount Plans troubleshooting
Prices not what you expect for a logged-in customer?
1. Confirm the customer has an Active plan assigned (Customers → Discounts, or the plan’s assigned list).
2. Check whether the product’s supplier has an override on that plan.
3. Remember: guests never get plan discounts; delivery/payment fees are never discounted by the plan.
4. Refresh the shop page or re-open the calculator after admin changes.
