What is this feature?
This feature allows you to set the VAT dynamically according to selected options of the created delivery region.
-

Please navigate to Settings > Shopping > Delivery Regions
You can manage these settings in Admin Portal settings.
After click on Create region button.

What does this option mean?
Option 1:
The option Delivery Region Name allows you to define the name of your region. In this example we chose Germany.
Option 2:
Every region could have a subregion. In this case the region name is Germany, and its superior region could be the EU. It means that Germany is a subregion.
Option 3:
When you tick this checkbox the option fields marked in the image as 4, 5 and 6 will be rendered and visible in the third step of the order process. (See The order process screens: Step 3)
Option 4:
As you can see in the image above, when you define this option, the chosen name of your region will be locked in the delivery address during the order process. (This will be also visible in the order process screenshot.)
Option 5:
In this dropdown you can choose the country, which will be also locked in the delivery address during the order process. (This will also be visible in the order process screenshot.)
Option 6:
You can define the ZIP prefix for the specific region if it remains the same for all of the cities from the defined region. For example, if you know that the prefix for the specific region is always 267 regardless of the city, you can define it in this option.
Option 7:
This option allows you to define Region VAT behavior. This option has some predefined options of settings.
- Domestic - this option means that the delivery region belongs to the same country as the seller.
- EU country - this option means that the delivery region belongs to the European Union.
- Outside the EU - this option means that the delivery region belongs out of the European Union.
- Custom - this option allows you to provide following VAT options by your decision.
Option 8:
The following option allows you to use external EU feature Online VAT validation.
This feature requires input to the VAT nr. of the customer and during the order process you can validate if the customer's VAT nr. is valid or not.
This option has two possible settings:
- DISABLED (no validation)
- ACTIVE (via EU VIES)
Regardless choosing the Option 7: d) this option is always set to b) ACTIVE (via EU VIES).
It means that only if you choose Custom Region VAT behavior you can deactivate this option.
Option 9:
This checkbox allows you to Block delivery to this region if VAT ID is invalid, unknown or online validation failed. This is just a security checkbox to not to sell the products to customers with unknown or invalid VAT nr..
Option 10:
Apply following VAT values to the entire cart according to VAT validation. If you leave values empty the system will use default domestic VAT value according to the VAT level assigned to the product.
This option has also two settings possibilities:
- VAT for VALID VAT ID
- VAT for INVALID VAT ID
The order process screens:
Step 1: During the order process you will be called to choose the region. It appears in a small dropdown as you can see in the image.
Step 2a): When you choose one of your regions the VAT VERIFICATION feature will load.
Step 2b): Fill the Enter your company VAT ID and click VALIDATE.
Step 2c): The feature will load for a while but if the validation process will success you
will see the Validation status: VALID VAT ID = Applied ***% VAT to all items in
your cart. ( *** = defined VAT)
Step 3: The process went well and you will be able to provide the delivery address.
As written above in this form the country is locked and region defined.
