This article covers turning TronDesigner on and configuring how much of it your customers see. It's intended for shop administrators.
By the end, you'll have TronDesigner activated and its settings configured.

Before you start
You'll need:
- A valid TronDesigner licence,
- TronCalculator is active in your shop – pricing happens there.
- Your shop's final domain – activation authorizes the domain the Editor loads on, so if your URL changes later, you should reactivate.
The Visualization add-on is optional. With it, you get logo visualization across your catalog and product pages. Without it, the Editor, print jobs, and visual proofs all work – product images just don't show customers' logos.
Turn TronDesigner on
Go to Settings → Integrations → Visualizations.
The page is titled "Visualization Tool Integration Settings". You'll see a tab for each visualization tool, and a badge showing its active/inactive state. Your shop runs one tool at a time, or none.
- Open the TronDesigner tab. The selected tab turns green to show which section you're viewing.
- Click Activate TronDesigner Integration.
- See the green confirmation message.
That's the whole thing. TronShop sets up the connection for you and authorizes your shop's domain so the Editor can load there.
The configuration section then appears below; it becomes available only after activation succeeds. It opens with default settings already applied. Review them, and if you change anything, click Save to keep it.
The Editor configuration settings
Settings decide how much of TronDesigner your customers see. One main toggle controls the rest.
Allow Editor launch from webshop frontend (the master switch)
Default: ON. When it's OFF, every setting below it is locked, and your customers can't design anywhere – no button on the product page, none in the cart, and the designer option disappears from the calculator. Your admin portal is unaffected: you can always create print jobs from an order, regardless of this setting.
Visualization is also unaffected – if you have the add-on, logos still appear on your product images.
Show Editor launch button on product detail page
Default: ON. The Create design button appears on your product pages. When OFF, customers can still design from the cart or calculator, if that's enabled.
If you have the Visualization add-on, the add-on's own settings control how and where the Create design button appears on the product page – it's part of the visualization block, together with the Logo upload banner – and those settings override this one. So if this is ON but your visualization display is set to Hidden, no button appears. Check your visualization settings.
Create design button can appear even on products that aren't available for purchase – for example, enquiry-only products with no price or stock. Customers can design and download a proof, but there's no cart to add it to.
Show Editor launch button in shopping cart
Default: ON. Controls whether Create Design and Edit Design appear in the cart. When OFF, customers still see the status of a design they've already created – they can't start or change one from here.
Allow Editor for guest users
Default: OFF. Controls whether customers who aren't logged in can design.
- When ON, guests behave exactly like logged-in customers.
- When OFF, every design button is still visible but disabled, with the tooltip "Log in to design" – so a guest knows the feature exists and has a reason to register.
Require design before placing order
Default: NO. Controls whether customers must create a design before checkout. When YES, a designable item with printing but without a print job blocks checkout, with a message explaining what to do.
It checks that the design exists – not that it's correct. A design that doesn't match the print configuration still satisfies the requirement. How strict the Editor is about the design itself is set in the TronDesigner admin portal, not here.
Required mockup precision
Default: 100%. Controls which of your products customers can design, everywhere the Editor can be launched in the webshop – product page, shopping cart, and calculator. Based on how complete each product's print data is.
- 100% – only products with complete print data (green printer icon in the product catalog). Everything else shows a grayed-out button with a tooltip.
- 0–100% – complete and partial (green + yellow). On partial products, the Data Selector asks your customer to fill in what's missing. Products with no print data stay grayed out.
- 0% – everything, including products with no print data.
Two things that apply regardless of this setting:
Create design button can appear on products that aren't available for purchase – for example, enquiry-only products with no price. Customers can design and download a visual proof, but there's no cart to add it to.
Products that don't support printing at all are never designable, regardless of this setting.
Start at 100%. It's the safest. Loosen it once you've seen how it behaves against your own catalog – too few designable products is a much easier problem than too many.
Before you set 0%: at this level, products with zero print data become designable. The Data Selector asks the customer to fill in all the missing details before the Editor opens.
When you've set your options, click Save.
Switching from TronLogo
Only one visualization tool runs at a time, so activating TronDesigner turns TronLogo off. A confirmation explains that TronLogo's launch points will be disabled and your design data is preserved.
- Your logos: preserved. Switch back later, and they're all there.
- For your customers: the simple logo editor is replaced by the TronDesigner Editor, and the product-page button becomes Create design.
One thing to know: a logo your customers previously customised in the old editor won't appear as a visualization overlay under TronDesigner – visualization uses the originally uploaded logo.
Turn it off
Go to Settings → Integrations → Visualizations → TronDesigner tab, click Deactivate, and confirm.
Nothing is deleted.
- Editor launch points are disabled – on your shop and in your admin portal.
- Print job actions on orders are disabled, with a tooltip explaining why. Remove still works.
- The print jobs themselves stay in TronDesigner.
- Print Data stays fully available, so you can still handle orders and send them to your supplier.
Turning it back on reconnects everything automatically – no relinking, no reconfiguring. Your print jobs reattach to their designs, and your orders pick up where they were.
The rule, in both directions: turning TronDesigner on never touches your existing manual print data, and turning it off never touches your print jobs. The only thing that changes is which buttons work.

The Editor won't load on your shop
Almost always the shop domain – usually after a URL change. Go to Settings → Integrations → Visualizations and click Activate again. It re-authorises your current domain.
You added the Visualization add-on, and nothing changed
Licence changes aren't picked up by an already-running integration. Deactivate and reactivate – nothing is lost.
