Basic Informations About Importing Products From The Suppliers

This article will help you with importing products to your TronShop

The PromoTron platform currently allows you to add to your TronShop products from around 40 suppliers. That ensures you can choose from hundreds of thousands of products across all different suppliers and product categories that will precisely match your business strategy and your customer's needs.

Adding a supplier to your TronShop

Adding a supplier to your TronShop could not be easier. Simply go to your TronShop admin settings and select the "Products" tab from the side menu - then click on the green "+" button:

A list of suppliers will open: Now you can search the supplier either by "country of origin", by name with the search field provided or browse the the list page by page. Once you found your supplier add them to your TronShop by clicking on the "Assign" button:

Upon the "assigning" process, you will be asked to choose your "Products Purchase Settings" and "Sale Price Settings". If you have decided on these settings prior - you can choose your preference right away. Otherwise, you can always go back and set up your supplier settings later. Click on "Save".

 

TIP

TIP: We recommend to reach your supplier directly and ask for the "Individual price data feed" if available. This will ensure your prices are accurate and automatically updated online.

 

You will be brought to the screen that will allow you to do the most important step - finally to choose the product categories you want to offer on your TronShop - go to the "Select Categories" tab and check/uncheck the categories you wish to add/remove to your TronShop:

Importing products from the supplier

After assigning a supplier to your TronShop now is the time when you choose what products will be uploaded from this supplier and will offered to your customers.

Go to the "suppliers" settings and select the supplier you have just added:

 

There are 4 options how to import products from the selected supplier to your TronShop:

1. Adding products based on their "Category" indication

Adding products based on their "Category" indication - simply click on the "Selected Categories" tab, browse the categories that the supplier offers and tick the check box:

2. Adding products based on the supplier "Brand"

Adding products based on the supplier "Brand" - various suppliers have a different brands for their products - if you would like to add just products that belongs to the group of brand - go to the "Selected Brands" tab and tick the check box associated with the brand.

Note: This tab does not serve as a category "filter" (see the message below). Therefore if you want to import only products for the specific "Brand" you have to go to the "Selected Categories" tab first and
un-check the relevant category.

3. Adding products based on the product "Indications"

Adding products based on the product "Indications" - various products can have various indications defined by the supplier (Fairtrade, Premium Quality, Recyclable etc.). In the tab "Selected Indication" you can upload only such products that will meet your requirements.

4. Adding products individually

Adding products individually - you are also able to add only single products that you want to list on your TronShop. You can look up such products in the supplier list and add them manually. Just select the "Selected products" tab - click on the green "Plus" button:

A pop-up window will open - from here you can filter products based on their category and browse the list. Or you can use the text search field where you can type the name of the product or its supplier code:

When you find the desired product - click on the green "+" button and the product will be listed. 

Excluded products

Alternatively, you can exclude products that you do not want to list in yourTronShop. Go to the "Excluded products" tab and click on the green "+" button.

As in the previous step, you can filter products based on their category and browse the list. Or you can use the text search field where you can type the name of the product or its supplier code you want to exclude from your shop. Confirm your choice and the product won't be available for your customers.

Product limits

If you are having issues with importing products - firstly check if you have not reached the limit of your licence for the product count.

Based on your PromoTron plan your shop will have a certain limit for products that can be uploaded - you can check the limit information in your TronShop admin:

PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION

With the supplier products all printing techniques/branding services will uploaded into your TronShop as well (even if you will import only one selected product from the supplier). There is no way around it and it is set up like this on purpose by default - in order to prevent the scenario - when a product is selected for calculation and printing - but the printing technique would be missing just because your TronShop licence would reach its limit - that is why all printing techniques and positions are always uploaded first.
You also have to count in every variant for every single product model. For example, if upload a product that has lots of colour variants and size variants - you not uploading only one product but all its variants as well! See an example of the product below - with this model, you will be uploading also its 21 variants - which will affect your licence product limits!

PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION

Please bear in mind that not all suppliers are able to provide all data such as visualizations for printing positions etc. It depends on many factors such as the level of their technology development or the level of integration into the PromoTron platform.
