Setting up redirection
URL redirects are used to redirect traffic from one web page to another. When you change a URL on your TronShop
store, you can create a URL redirect to ensure your customers can still find what they're looking for.
For example, if you delete a product category in your TronShop
, then you can set up a URL redirect for it, so that when customers enter the URL for that product category, they will be redirected to a similar category.
PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION
You can't redirect URLs that already exist, in case you want to redirect from existing page please follow instructions in Redirection with external scripts
Steps:
Settings > Advanced Functions > Redirecting
Source URL
and the URL of your new one into Target URL
Example of a properly configured redirection from /en/about
to /en/about-us
:
demoshop.promotron.com/en/about

• Source URL
• Target URL
• Page name (if Pages
section was selected)
• Product name (if Products
section was selected)
• Product code (if Products
section was selected)
• Supplier name (if Products

• Supplier code (if Products

After you've uploaded the file and pressed the "Import" button, you'll receive an Import Result Log. You can download a Detail Import Log.

In conclusion, the import and export functionality provides a seamless way to manage redirections. Regularly backing up your redirection settings can act as a safety net, ensuring your website's consistent performance.
Redirection with external scripts
The redirect can also be done using external scripts. Go to Settings > Advanced Functions > External Scritps
and click on the (+) button. A detailed description of how do external scripts work is described here.
