Start, Dashboard and Insights in the menu
The first three items of the TronShop admin menu are Start, Dashboard and Insights:
- Start guides you through setting up your shop, step by step, and then through your first milestones: visitors, carts and your first order.
- Dashboard shows how your shop is doing: sales, orders, visitors and conversion, with trends and a suggested next step.
- Insights goes into more detail: how visitors move from a visit to an order, conversion over time, products and search terms.
When you open your shop in the admin, you still land on Dashboard. If your shop is still new, the Dashboard sends you to Start (see Dashboard).
Start: your setup guide
Start collects everything a new shop needs to do before it goes live, in one place. On the left, Your path lists the setup steps followed by the milestones. In the middle, you see the tasks of the selected step. On the right, you find tips for getting visitors to your shop.
To work through your setup:
- In the admin menu, click Start. The step you should do next is marked Do this next.
- In Your path, click a step to see its tasks. You can do the steps in any order.
- Click Open › on a task to go straight to the admin page where you do it. When you come back to Start, it shows the step you came from.
- When you have finished a task that does not have the Automatic tag, come back to Start and tick it.
There are two kinds of tasks:
- Automatic tasks are ticked for you once your shop's settings show they are done, for example when your logo is uploaded or a delivery method with a payment method is set up. If you undo the setting later, the tick goes away again. It can take about a minute before Start shows the change.
- Manual tasks (all the others) are ticked by you. The tick is shared by everyone who manages the shop, and Start shows who ticked the task and when. To tick or untick a task, you need the Manage settings access. Without it, you can see the ticks but not change them.
Tasks marked Optional are suggestions. A step counts as done when all of its tasks that are not optional are done.
PLEASE TAKE ATTENTION
If your shop was created before 1 October 2026, or it already has 5 open carts (5 inquiries in quotation mode) or its first order, Start shows the setup steps as an optional list. You can still use it as a checklist, but Start no longer points you to the setup steps. Instead, the top of the page shows your progress through the milestones.
The setup steps and their tasks
Online shops have 7 setup steps. Shops in Quotation & Demand Mode have 6, because the Delivery & payment step does not apply to them. In the table, (automatic) marks the tasks that are ticked for you.
| Step | Tasks | Optional tasks |
| 1. Choose suppliers | Choose your suppliers (automatic) | Learn how product updates work; Explore purchase orders |
| 2. Set up price policies | Set up your sale price policies | Set up your printing price policy; Explore discount plans |
| 3. Select & sync products | Select and sync your product range (automatic) | Explore recommended products; Explore product code options |
| 4. Basic configuration | Set your shop name and contact e-mail (automatic); Set up default e-mails (automatic); Choose your shopping mode; Set languages and currencies | – |
| 5. Delivery & payment (online shops only) |
Set up shipping and payment methods (automatic) | Explore delivery regions; Connect online payments (automatic) |
| 6. Look & content | Upload your logo (automatic); Replace the template texts (automatic); Personalise your menus; Organise your categories; Choose what product cards and pages show; Check your VAT levels | Set your brand colours; Add banners (automatic); Pick homepage bestsellers (automatic); Explore own products; Check translations |
| 7. Get ready to launch | Place a test order (automatic), or in quotation mode Send a test inquiry (automatic); Set up Google Analytics (automatic) | Connect your domain (automatic); Redirect your old website; Check your product feeds; Test print calculation and logo upload; Add an online chat; Check premium features |
A few automatic tasks are worth knowing in detail:
- Replace the template texts is done when each template page (Terms & Conditions, Contact us, About us) has been rewritten, hidden or deleted.
- Set up Google Analytics is done when Native Google Analytics is on with a GTM Container ID in Settings › Integrations › Analytics, or, while Native is off, when an active external script loads Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.
- Set up default e-mails is done when copies of customer e-mails or internal notifications go to at least one address in Settings › Communications › E-mail settings.
- Place a test order is done when at least one order is marked as a test (see Mark your test orders as tests).
For help with the first steps, see New Supplier Setting Up and Setting up price policies.
Milestones after setup
After the setup steps, Your path shows three milestones. They are reached automatically:
| Milestone | Online shop | Quotation & Demand Mode |
| 1 | First 10 visits | First 10 visits |
| 2 | First 5 opened carts: 5 carts that customers have started but not yet ordered | First 5 inquiries |
| 3 | First order | First inquiry: your first inquiry that has been answered, quoted or ordered |
Orders and inquiries marked as tests do not count towards the milestones.
Mark your test orders as tests
Before you launch, place a test order in your shop to check that everything works. Mark it as a test right away: until you do, it counts as your first real order. That completes your last milestone and opens the full Dashboard, and the test order is counted in your sales figures.
- In the admin menu, go to Orders › Orders List.
- Find your test order and tick its Is Test box.
In quotation mode, do the same with your test inquiry in Inquiries. You need access to manage orders (or inquiries) to see the Is Test column.
Dashboard
What the Dashboard shows depends on how far your shop has got:
- Fewer than 5 open carts and no order yet (fewer than 5 inquiries and none answered yet, in quotation mode): the Dashboard shows only the card Your dashboard unlocks soon. Click Go to Start to continue with your setup.
- 5 open carts or more, but no order yet (5 inquiries, but none answered yet, in quotation mode): you see a coaching version. It shows your biggest opportunity, the path from visit to order, and cards such as visitors and conversion, each with a short explanation.
- After your first real order (in quotation mode: your first answered or quoted inquiry): you see the full Dashboard with what you earned through TronShop, your wins (first order, 10 orders, 100 orders and so on), cards for sales, orders, average order and visitors, a chart, and your newest orders.
Use Show data for to switch between 7 days, 30 days, Quarter and 12 months. Each card shows the % change against the same point of the previous period, and the sales summary compares this month with last month by the same day. Cancelled, test and deleted orders are left out of the figures. The tips on the Dashboard are general suggestions, not an analysis of your individual products.
Insights
Insights is the detailed view of your shop's traffic. Use Show data for to choose the period, the same way as on the Dashboard.
- From visit to order (or From visit to inquiry): sessions, product views, opened carts and orders, with the drop-off between the steps, so you can see at which step visitors leave.
- Conversion momentum: how your conversion rate develops over the period compared with the previous period. Until your first order, this card shows Not enough data yet.
- Engagement quality: bounce rate, average session length and pages per session.
- Product analytics: before your first order (and always in quotation mode), Most-viewed products, the product pages with the most visits; after your first order, Best sellers from your shop's orders, in your shop's main currency.
- Search terms: what visitors type into your shop's search, including searches that found nothing. Use them to spot products your customers are looking for.
Until your shop has 5 open carts (5 inquiries), Insights shows Insights are waiting for data; only Search terms can already list what visitors searched for. The card More analytics coming soon (devices, locations and traffic sources) is a preview of analytics that are not available yet.
About the numbers
- Amounts on the Dashboard and in Insights are shown in your shop's main currency.
- Orders and sales come straight from your shop. Visitor figures come from our analytics and are refreshed periodically, so the pages may show data with a delay. If visitor analytics cannot be loaded, the page says Visitor analytics are temporarily unavailable — sales and orders are up to date. instead of showing zeros.
- Cancelled orders, orders marked as tests and deleted orders are not counted in the figures. For the stage of your Dashboard and the first-order milestone, every order that is not a test counts.
- Visitor figures leave out known robots, such as search-engine crawlers, as far as they can be recognised; some automated visits can still be counted. They can therefore differ from what you see in Google Analytics.
Who can see these pages
Start, Dashboard and Insights are visible to admin users with the View dashboard access. Ticking manual tasks on Start also needs Manage settings. If you cannot see these pages or tick tasks, ask your shop's administrator to give you that access.
